drill bits for martin yale 101 and 202 paper drillsHave you ever needed replacement parts or consumables for a machine you own and when you try to buy more, you find it's been discontinued? If you have a paper drill manufactured by Martin Yale, Lihit or Imperial you may find it a challenge trying to shop for drill bits that fit these machines. If you try to reach out to the manufacturers, you will discover they have stopped making the drill bits. All hope is not lost though... CFS Binding supplies has you covered.

We work closely with a proven, trusted fabricator to provide paper bits for most graphic arts production drill presses. They have obtained the original design specifications from most manufacturers and they are guaranteed to fit and perform just like the OEM bits. In fact, in my 15 plus years working here at CFS, I cannot recall an issue where the bits did not fit into their respective machines.

There are two common styles of bits for these drills and it is matter of capacity and then a less common, longer/larger capacity:

Martin Yale style J bit for 101 drill
Style J
- is a 1 inch capacity bit that fits models like the Martin Yale 101 paper drill.

martin-yale-stylek-bit
Style K - has a 2 inch drilling capacity to fit models such as the Martin Yale 202 paper drill.

martin-yale-stylekl-bit
Style KL
- has a 2 inch drilling capacity to fit models such as the Martin Yale 202 paper drill.

Martin Yale used to offer a "diamonized" option on their bits that was said to increase drill bit life by impregnating the tip with tungsten carbide to give it ' near diamond hardness'. After several tests, the results really did not show any definitive differences, so that option is no longer available. Essentially, most drill bits are hardened carbide steel and there is no substitution for regular drill bit sharpening and proper care.

In addition to paper drill bits, we also provide the drill strips (or inserts) that fit into the table of the drill presses as well as the lubricant sticks and sharpeners. So you keep on drilling and don't worry, we'll keep making more bits!
