callforbestpriceIn today's world of Internet shopping and instant ecommerce satisfaction, it still seems that some industries have yet to catch up with the times and offer their best prices online. I know I've experienced it with some items that I'd like to purchase, I see a "call for best price" note on the item's webpage. It seems kind of ridiculous, unnecessary and a hurdle in the way of my efficient online shopping experience. Is it a tactic to make communication with me? Maybe a way start a conversation to pressure a sale? Well, I can tell you in most cases that is not the intent.

Some of the machines on the CFS binding supplies website have this same statement. It's actually the manufacturers who require this and it's called a MAPP or minimum advertised price policy. The manufacturers of these items want to ensure their products are not devalued by some retailer who will slash the price way down to just dollars over cost in hopes of selling in quantity. If that happens and purchasers need some support, typically those companies who sell so low do not offer decent support, so the product is devalued even further. Additionally, they want to keep the pricing around the same general area. There are actually several reasons why these MAPP restrictions are put into place, but all hope of a better price is not lost.

At CFS all you have to do is contact us via phone, email or live chat. We will be glad to give you our low price which you can count on always being lower than the MAPP price - sometimes it is surprisingly much lower!

If you have any questions on this policy, by all means ask away in the comments below. We're always glad to help any way we can.
