It's a question we hear frequently: Can I use the 5/16" leg length staples in the Rapid 106 electric stapler to bind my booklets?
The main thing to keep in mind with this stapler is that while it has a capacity of 40 sheets (20 pound bond) when flat (side or corner) stapling, when you are saddle stapling booklets it can only staple the equivalent of 20 sheets. The 1/4" staples are meant for the saddle stapling for a clean, finished close. If the longer 5/16" leg length staples are used for a booklet, they will not properly form and close up in the stapler's anvil.
